Kingston, Ontario was Canada's first capital city. Although the government now resides in Ottawa, Kingston is a lovely place to visit, filled with attractions and dining options. When looking for a place to eat within the downtown area, tourists are spoiled for choice! These are a few of the more notable restaurants. The Copper PennyLocated at 240 Princess St, The Copper Penny has been serving up sandwiches, pasta, pizza and burgers for years. The food is fairly priced and each item on the menu is of great quality. They have a huge menu, ensuring there is something for everyone. If looking for a place to watch a sports game, then The Copper Penny is a great choice as there are a number of TVs in prime viewing locations. They have a good selection of beer on tap. A fantastic family restaurant! Grecos Wine Bar and Grill When looking for authentic Greek food, one terrific choice downtown is Grecos. This small restaurant is located at167 Princess St and offers a variety of delicious mediterreanean meals. The atmosphere is busy as there are always people coming and going and the prices are medium to high for a dinner meal. The service, as with many restaurants downtown, is stellar and if you're in the mood, order the Saganaki! Ompa! Woodenheads Gourmet PizzaOne might not place pizza at the top of the list when scouring the region for a nice place to eat. However, to miss out on Woodenheads would be a crime indeed! This restaurant, located at 192 Ontario St serves some of the best pizza anywhere. These gourment, thin crust pies can be tailored to your specifications, or ordered a la carte. Cooked in traditional brick ovens, these pizzas are absolutely delicious! Le Chien Noir Bistro"The Black Dog" operates from 65 Brock St and offers amazing food and fantastic service. Everything that you'd expect is offered and given the attention it deserves. From the moment you're seated to the moment you leave, you'll be soaking in the quality. Although the menu is small, each of their meals are cooked with care and great ingredients. Expect to pay a little more, but every cent is worth it. When visiting Kingston, there are many options available for dining. Don't be afraid to try out the smaller restaurants, as often, these places are the best. Enjoy your dinner!
